Each camp offers a special opportunity to learn the Scolio-Pilates techniques. All camps focus on giving you the tools to successfully perform a home exercise program. The longer the camp, the more detailed and personal advice we’ll be able to share.
The Express Camp: In the Express Camp we will focus on the Scolio-Pilates Super 6, as well as two or three more exercises in the Scolio-Pilates Home Exercise Book. We want to give you a strong core base of exercises that you can feel very confident doing on your own at home. Currently offered at Movement of Pilates in Santa Clarita, California.
The 3-Day Camp. The 3-day Camp focuses on exercises throughout the Scolio-Pilates Home Exercise book. We probably won’t get to all of them but you’ll have a lot of options to work with! There will be a lot of curve-specific corrections with a lot of repetition so you’ll understand how to make these corrections at home. Currently offered in Mt Holly, North Carolina at Anatomywise.
The 5-Day Camp. The 5-Day Camp is an extension of the 3-day camp and uses the Pilates equipment during Days 4 and 5. Do you have equipment at home? Or attend classes at a Pilates studio? Stay for these follow-on two days to focus on equipment exercises! Currently offered in Mt Holly, North Carolina at Anatomywise.
“It’s truly amazing. You have given her such a strong sense of self, self-confidence and the feeling of empowerment and control of her body. It’s hard but she’s having fun and doable and you have set her up to success. Feeling good in your own body as a teen is so hard, especially when you have scoliosis, but she feels good in her own skin. You are magic. Thank you!”–Jenn M, Mother of teen with scoliosis.
“My 11-year-old daughter and I visited Karena from the Midwest. We went for a four day intensive and left with so much knowledge about my daughters curve. Not only did we learn great things…Karena put together a very manageable program to continue at home. She left California with great posture, confidence, and determination!”–Rebecca D, Mother of child with scoliosis
“Your work is so innovative and original. You are truly a unique combination of scientist and artist in one person.
Your way of teaching and leading the group was so inspiring. Fully present in each moment with both kindness and humor. (Mia and I were even more impressed when we looked up the time difference between California and Holland).
I am so grateful to you for making me almost pain free in one session. And It still works!!!
What is complicated to understand my body got immediately. Take the best care of yourself! Still walking on clouds here!”– Kristina, adult with scoliosis
