Eliza started practising Pilates in 2006, and her passion for Pilates has developed since.
Her job in banking meant long hours being seated at the desk, which resulted in lower back tightness and persistent shoulder aches. Having scoliosis made these imbalances even more pronounced and this led her to Pilates, which not only eased her discomfort but helped build balanced strength and improve spine health. Pilates helped to raise awareness about her own curve and how she could help to manage her postural imbalances in her daily activities. After childbirth, practising Pilates regularly has also helped with her post natal recovery.
Given her passion in Pilates, she took the leap and left her banking career of 20 years to become a Pilates instructor hoping to share the benefits of Pilates with others.
Learning to manage scoliosis with daily life led her to pursue her certification with Scolio-Pilates® and she is now an Authorized Scolio-Pilates® Practitioner. She is trained in working with scoliosis and specialises in guiding clients toward better alignment and elongation, empowering them to understand their own unique curves and move with greater ease and confidence. Through specific scoliosis exercises clients will be able to achieve more efficient, aligned patterns of movement and reduce compensations around the spine.
