I graduated in physiotherapy from Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health, in Brazil (2004). I’ve always believed in movement as the best tool for preventing and treating pain in my patients. That’s why I dedicated myself to the Pilates method. In addition to courses and specialization in Brazil, I traveled to Canada and the USA to improve my skills and exchange experiences with renowned professionals from other countries: Deborah Lessen (New York), Brett Howard (New Jersey), Roberta Kirschenbaum (New York), Laura Helsel (Canada), Barbara Grant (Canada), Susan Greskevitch (Canada), and Chantal Dion (Canada). I’ve always balanced my work as a Pilates instructor at several studios in Salvador (Ponto de Equilíbrio, HomePilates, and ActivePilates) with my physical therapy work: in clinics (Clinica Sem Dor), home visits with patients with orthopedic and neurological disorders and teaching classes in ActivePilates instructor training courses. I’ve always wanted to stay up-to-date, doing courses about Neuroscience of Pain, training in the Busquet Method (muscular and physiological chains) and lymphatic drainage for post-surgical patients. I love working with my hands, so I am always associating manual therapy with movement. I discovered Scolio-Pilates® through Instagram with the goal of improving treatment for my niece, who has scoliosis. I have no doubts about coming to the US and completing the modules. I’m happy to be the first in South America and Brazil to work with this concept of scoliosis exercises and proud to become an Authorized Scolio-Pilates® Practitioner. Authorized Scolio-Pilates® Practitioner since September 2024.
