Karen Kleiner worked in the medical field as a Cardiac and Vascular Sonographer for 25 years. In seeking personal relief and professional growth she proceeded to become a Pilates instructor in 2010. Seeking to help her clients further, she did a three year, 16,000 hour intensive training to become a certified movement therapist in the technique known as the Alexander Technique .
Always looking for ways to help and care for her clients, Karen attended a Scolio-Pilates workshop, and did additional training to become an Authorized Scolio-Pilates Practitioner, training directly with Karena Thek. Karen then partnered with Karena Thek to bring the Scolio-Pilates Program to Dayton Childrens’ Hospital in Ohio, where Scolio-Pilates is now a part of the treatment program for thier patients with scoliosis.
Karen’s studio, Anatomywise, is located in Mount Holly, North Carolina. It is the host center for Scolio-Pilates camps for children and adults. The camps are an intensive 20-hour, 5-day program offering those with scoliosis a three-dimensional exercise program that works in conjunction with their current medical treatment plan. Each personalized program is designed to be continued at home.
Authorized Scolio-Pilates® Practitioner since September 2017
