Emily Hagan — Baltimore, Maryland

Location: Baltimore, Maryland

After working as a Software Engineer and Project Manager for many years, Emily became inspired to become a Pilates Instructor after observing the Pilates Method’s benefits for senior citizens and special populations. Hoping to learn techniques to help a family member with a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), Emily signed up for an introductory course. The first course surpassed her expectations, and she had found a new lifelong passion.

Emily’s mission is to help individuals, regardless of body type, age, or condition, to find balance in their bodies and joy in movement. As an analytical thinker and dynamic problem solver, Emily is always looking for solutions to help clients feel better and move with more ease. She has an infectious enthusiasm for her work and wishes to encourage others to “stay the course” in their fitness journeys.

As an Authorized Scolio-Pilates Instructor, Emily works with each client to understand their curve and design an exercise program to meet their needs. While Emily leads clients through Scolio-Pilates sessions, she uses mind-body teaching techniques to create postural awareness and neuro-muscular change. Emily strives to empower clients to apply the work in their daily lives for a lasting, meaningful impact.

Emily received her comprehensive Pilates Instructor Certification from Peak Pilates. She is also a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and an Advanced Specialist in Pilates for Neurological Conditions through The Neuro Studio. She holds a B.A. in Communication Arts and a B.S. in Computer Science from Hood College. She holds an M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC).

Emily works at several studios in Baltimore and surrounding counties. She will also travel to clients’ homes within the Baltimore area.
