JUNE is Scoliosis Awareness Month!

 

June 8th Class 116: Scolio-Resistance Band: Extra Long!

It’s Scoliosis Awareness Month. Join us and bring your resistance band today. You might have a Theraband lying around, an elastic cord, or some other stretchy device you can use to provide a bit of resistance to help us realign our spines today. Today, we want an extra-long band. Do you have two? Keep them both handy, we may tie them together!

 

It’s Scoliosis Awareness Month. Do you ever feel like someone has gone inside your neck and wound the muscles too tight? Me too! I feel like they get wrapped around my neck bones in the wrong direction. Haha! But really, not funny, when it’s aching. We are going to work on realigning and unwinding before we begin strengthening to hold the improved, “feel good” alignment.

 

JULY

July 13th Class 118: Scolio-Summer Core on The Ball

We’re going to find those core muscles, Come Pilates or high water! Haha! We’re going to use the your large exercise ball to challenge the abdominal muscles. The good news is that you are also going to feel the shoulders and hips working. Working on the ball is challenging, but it can also feel like a huge relief to the achy-spine bits. You’re going to love this.

 

What? The Ball again? Yep. We’re going for it – two weeks in a row. There’s not much that replicates the challenge and the biofeedback that the ball provides. That’s right, it’s not all about the challenge, we’ll be using the ball to help us find our balance and even the intricate muscles of the pelvic diaphragm.

 

The heat is kicking up and it’s time to bask in the sun and let our bodies unwind. We’ve been working hard in the last few months, so we are taking the entire class to find our stretch, our length and our elongation. We’ll use all three to help us realign our spines in the most gentle and still effective way possible.
